“After completing my IDF service as a ‘lone soldier’ in the Kfir Brigade, I arrived at campus searching for another way to contribute to Israel. I saw Im Tirtzu on campus and realized that this is what I was searching for, and joined immediately.

Im Tirtzu has been a prominent part of my university experience and helped me gain a greater understanding the deeper meaning behind our land and lives in Israel by means of activities, volunteering, trips, lectures, and much more. Because of the activities I participated in, and sometimes helped run, I was able to forge a strong connection Israel, as well as to my Israeli counterparts, which greatly helped me integrate into Israeli society.

I view Im Tirtzu as perhaps the most important Zionist organization in Israel today. It’s Zionist activities are crucial to the contribution to maintaining Israel as a Jewish and democratic state. It is an organization like no other.”

“Im Tirtzu has had a huge impact on my Aliyah experience. I made Aliyah in October of 2012 and immediately started studying at Bar-Ilan University. I felt like a fish out of water. I was new to the country, new to the language and new to the culture. I was walking through the center of campus and out of the corner of my eye I spotted a guy wearing a shirt with Herzl on it and of course I had to know more. He explained Im Tirtzu’s mission and I was hooked.

I started attending meetings and activities despite my lack of Hebrew just to be surrounded by a group of strong Zionists who wanted to make a difference. What I didn’t realize was the impact it would have on me. As someone who is studying in English I was concerned I would have difficulty finding Israeli friends but Im Tirtzu created a social structure for me- all I had to do was show up and I immediately had a group of friends who were genuinely interested in me and in helping me integrate into the country.

I was learning Hebrew simply by sitting with a group of people who shared my interests. My Hebrew went from being almost non-existent to fairly fluent. I was learning about the Israeli culture by participating in Im Tirtzu social activities and I was contributing to the society of the country I love so much. I give Im Tirtzu a lot of credit for the success of my integration into Israeli society. The warm and loving atmosphere they create gave me the confidence to dive in to the Israeli culture and experience.”
