Five days following the incident in which a Hebrew University professor was filmed scolding a student for wearing her IDF uniform to class, the university published a special ad welcoming students in uniform to study at the university.
We are pleased that our widespread efforts, which included facilitating the sending of over 45,000 emails to the university administration, organizing demonstrations, and pushing the issue in the media, resulted in this positive show of support for our soldiers.
However, there is still a long road ahead.
Yesterday, it was widely reported that a senior professor at Hebrew University will be giving a lecture in Europe accusing Israel of exploiting the “bodies and lives” of Palestinian children to promote arms sales.
Unfortunately, this phenomenon of Israelis slandering Israel abroad is not an uncommon occurrence.
Im Tirtzu will continue working hard to defend Israel by leading the fight against efforts to delegitimize Israel from within.

There Is No Compliment as Sincere as a Back-Handed One

Today, the editorial in Haaretz newspaper was solely devoted to attacking Im Tirtzu for our efforts defending the student who was shamed.

They even concocted a wildly absurd and false story accusing Im Tirtzu of orchestrating the incident.

Evidently, they are not so fond that countless students turn to Im Tirtzu for help with instances of anti-Zionism in academia, labeling them as “informants” and stating how “the recent goings-on at the Hebrew University shows how the organization’s efforts are bearing fruit.”

But, as they say, there is no compliment as sincere as a back-handed one.
